Plant hire

Story Rail has an extensive plant hire fleet of machinery suitable for undertaking even the most complex of projects, for hire anywhere in the country.  Our Road Rail Vehicles (RRV's) and Road Rail Attachments are some of the most innovative and up to date that you will find on the infrastructure, stringently maintained under a plan with regular inspections recorded on an in-house database. We continue to invest in our fleet to ensure that we have the most reliable and efficient machinery, as well as environmentally-friendly plant available for our clients' projects and for external hire - with or without an experienced operator.

Plant Hire Service

We have a ten-strong experienced team of plant fitters and seven service vans, meaning that we can respond to breakdowns quickly and carry out routine servicing on site with minimum disruption to site operations. We understand that time constraints are a large challenge and our proactive approach to maintenance means that we pride ourselves on our reliability. With a 24 hour on-call manager and fitter, or even an on-site fitter who can drive a machine will provide you with an additional insurance policy to get the job done.

Plant Hire Range

Our plant list includes road rail vehicles and road rail excavators, tracked or wheeled excavators (3 to 35 tonne), a Unimog with the ability to tow 140 tonnes and multi purpose machines plus a range of dumpers and telehandlers.

A large quantity of small plant and equipment is available for long or short term hire including generators, compressors, pumps, concrete placing equipment and sawing equipment. Cable avoidance and surveying equipment are also available for hire.
