The removal of five redundant structures And replacement with stone infill.

Story Rail designed and implemented solutions to replace redundant structures which included infilling underbridges and reconstructing bridges. The contract was a package of five structures at Falkirk, Kirkcaldy, Mouchline, Scotscalder and Dorrery Creep. All structures except Scotscalder were infilled with stone mid-week and on the core weekend, the structure was removed and embankments reprofiled. The structure at Scotscalder which is near Thurso, was reconstructed with the existing steel bridge being replaced with a concrete bridge installed using a transporter instead of a crane due to adverse weather conditions.
