Environmental controls were required when Story Rail carried out embankment stabilisation works at Mewith, as the project involved the crossing of the fast flowing river Wenning and the installation of a clean stone working platform. De-vegetation works were carried out to uncover the long overgrown stone retaining wall to allow the works and resulted in extensive re-pointing of the masonry. An embankment re-grade and replacement of the S&T troughing and ballast shoulder completed the works. Upon completion Story Rail carefully removed the working platform and replaced existing river stones.
