160 yard track renewal through platforms 3 and 4 of this station on the west coast main line.

The project required the 160 yard track renewal works to be completed in 10 hour Rules of the Route Possessions. This resulted in Story Rail and NWR working closely to develop a plan to carry out a series of 40 yard track renewals over four weekends, with a fifth weekend used to carry out tamping works to install the design track alignment. Whilst a remote access point and OHLE isolation reduced the available working period to only 8 hours all works were completed as planned.
