Plant Resources
One of the key factors driving our success is the extensive investment we make in developing our resources. We own, operate and maintain all of our plant, which allows us to ensure reliability, availability and the highest standard of work. Our fleet includes a selection of specialist road rail vehicles and rail bugs, road rail heavy lifters, tracked excavators and laser dozers, as well as small plant, tools and equipment necessary to tackle any projects.
Staff Resources
We directly employ more than 350 PTS qualified staff and we make an ongoing training commitment that ensures our workforce hold a comprehensive range of competencies and impressively high skill levels.
Story Rail is an approved Track Safety Training and Assessment Provider and we are members of the Association of Rail Training Providers (ARTP). This allows us to carry out all of our internal training and assessments for On-track personnel (up to SPICOP level) and road rail operators. Added to this we have a purpose built test track at Head Office that is used for all training and assessments and which simulates realistic site conditions.
Resources For Clients
We also operate a Local Distribution Centre for Network Rail, supplying new ballast and receiving and handling spent ballast for infrastructure projects throughout the North, and emphasizing Network Rail's confidence in our ability to deliver a first class service, 24/7!
